Self Portraits
Some self portraits show an autograph by the famous Brazilian writer Paulo Coelho which was tattooed on Runyon's shoulder. His works about the Alchemists and symbolism have greatly inspired these photos. Experimentation and double exposure as well as combining images is used to create a surreal feeling and express deeper meaning in the images.
Zebra Collection
The Zebra collection is a collaboration between Marit Runyon and her late husband, photographer James Michael Runyon Sr.
The girls worked in a gentleman’s club in Phoenix, called the Gold Zebra Club. Runyon’s photos originally were used for newspaper ads. This is a story about how great retro photographs have been artistically recreated.
